Zayd Ahmed successful in an application to dismiss two counts of possession with intent to supply of Class A drugs.

Zayd Ahmed was instructed to represent the defendant in a multi-handed case involving the supply of cocaine and cannabis.

After analysing the case and identifying weaknesses in the Crown’s case, notably issues surrounding possession, Zayd drafted an application to dismiss.

At the hearing, Zayd relied on the case of Bland [1998] Crim LR 41 CA to support his argument that there was insufficient evidence of possession.

After legal arguments, the Crown considered its position and the outlined weaknesses and confirmed that they would not resist the application.

The application to dismiss was successful, and the defendant was formally acquitted of all charges.
